Description:

This painting depicts the life cycle of a tree. The four outer panels show a seed germinating into a seedling, a young sapling growing on the forest floor, a mature tree standing tall at sunset, and a fallen tree beginning to decompose. Together, they illustrate growth, maturity, death, and renewal.

The circular panels emphasize the tree's role in sustaining new life. The fallen tree creates a gap in the forest canopy, allowing sunlight to reach young trees. A samara seed lands in rich soil, beginning the cycle again, while a flower grows from an old stump, symbolizing that nothing in nature is wasted.

At the center, the sun and moon represent the natural forces that sustain life. Their placement emphasizes that all life, including the life cycle of trees, depends on the sun's energy and the moon's gravitational pull.
